United Way of St. Johns County Awards Funding to Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida’s THE PLAYERS Championship Club

JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida is proud to announce it has received $30,000 in grant funding from the United Way of St. Johns County to support critical youth development programs at THE PLAYERS Championship Boys & Girls Club.

The funding includes:

  • $15,000 for Project Learn, an education-focused initiative that reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge young people learn during the school day through homework help, tutoring, and high-yield learning activities.
  • $15,000 for SMART Moves, a nationally recognized prevention program that helps youth develop the decision-making and critical thinking skills needed to resist risky behaviors, while building resilience, confidence, and healthy relationships.

“This generous support from the United Way of St. Johns County ensures that local young people continue to have access to programs that strengthen their academic success, character, and health,” said Paul Martinez, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. “Together, we are helping to create great futures for children who need us most.”

THE PLAYERS Championship Boys & Girls Club provides a safe and nurturing environment for students in St. Johns County, offering mentorship, educational support, and enrichment opportunities that prepare youth for lifelong success. Support from the United Way not only sustains these critical programs but also amplifies their impact in the community.
