Jacksonville, FL – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida is proud to announce that Nico F., the 2024 National Youth of the Year for Boys & Girls Clubs of America, has been invited to deliver the First DUUUVAL during the Jacksonville Jaguars “Inspire Change” game against the New York Jets on December 15th at EverBank Stadium.
The “Inspire Change” initiative is the NFL’s social justice platform aimed at reducing barriers to opportunity, particularly in communities of color, while highlighting how the NFL family is working to create positive change. Nico’s selection to deliver the First DUUUVAL is a recognition of his incredible accomplishments and the impact he has had as a leader and advocate for youth development in Northeast Florida and beyond.
The First DUUUVAL, presented by Farah & Farah, is a pre-game ritual that has become synonymous with Jaguars game days since its inception in 2018. Notable figures, including Jaguars Hall of Famer Tony Boselli, have started the tradition, uniting the community through this electrifying chant. Nico, a dedicated member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida and a passionate Jaguars fan, will lead the iconic "DUUUVAL" chant just before kickoff continuing the cherished tradition that energizes fans and players alike.
As the National Youth of the Year, Nico represents over 3 million youth nationwide who benefit from Boys & Girls Clubs programs designed to build character, academic success, and leadership. His incredible journey began right here in Northeast Florida, where he has been a member of the Club for the past four years. During his time at the Club, Nico has mentored younger members, organized impactful community service projects, and embraced leadership opportunities that have shaped his future.
“We are thrilled and deeply proud to see Nico recognized on this incredible platform,” said Paul Martinez, President/CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. “Nico’s dedication, leadership, and character make him a remarkable ambassador for the youth in our community and across the nation.”
Nico has had the unique opportunity to experience EverBank Stadium up close during a behind- the-scenes tour as the Florida Youth of the Year earlier this year. His favorite player, quarterback Trevor Lawrence, has inspired Nico both on and off the field. “It’s a dream come true to deliver the First DUUUVAL,” said Nico. “To represent the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and my community means everything to me.”
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida invites the community to join them in celebrating Nico’s achievement at the December 15th game. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to participate in this exciting moment that highlights the incredible potential of local youth and the Jaguars fan spirit.
