“First Coast inspiring role model and National Youth of the Year to participate in the 2024 World Series ”
Jacksonville, FL – Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s 2024-2025 National Youth of the Year, Nico F., has been invited to participate in a momentous event at this year’s World Series! Nico will deliver the game ball before the first pitch at Game 2 of the World Series in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 26. The game is set to begin at 8 p.m.
Nico, a 17-year-old from Northeast Florida currently studying political science at Florida State University, will fly out from Tallahassee to Los Angeles early tomorrow morning to represent Boys & Girls Clubs and youth everywhere on baseball’s biggest stage. Known for his leadership, resilience, and drive to uplift his community, Nico’s involvement in the World Series marks another exciting milestone in his journey.
"I’m incredibly honored to be part of the World Series and to represent Boys & Girls Clubs on such a huge stage," said Nico, Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Youth of the Year. "This is a dream come true, and I hope my journey shows other young people that with hard work and support, anything is possible. I can’t wait to step onto that field and make everyone back home proud."
Nico’s journey to the National Youth of the Year title began at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. During his time, Nico embraced leadership roles by mentoring younger Club members, organizing community service projects and actively participating in programs that promote leadership and youth development.
